It's Nepali New Year, 2080
Today marks the beginning of the New Year 2080 for Nepal. I would like to take a moment on the first day of the year to briefly reflect on 2079, acknowledge it, and move forward. It's been a great school year. I have completed 5 years of undergraduate study on veterinary science and animal husbandry faculty with the highest grade among undergraduate students in the Tribhuvan University from our faculty. It was a year in which I traveled several places for academic purposes. I have attended conferences, participated in internships, directed research activities, and successfully prepared and presented posters and thesis on internship research activities. I completed my veterinary license exam and registered as a veterinarian.
My passion on veterinary science was getting its way, and my interest on wildlife conservation was getting its shape. It was like a roller coaster ride to advance research activities. Once I start remembering all those moments, I could write a little book about it. In the end it all worked out fine. I had the opportunity to make more connections. It was a great experience to learn about wildlife fieldwork and laboratory research from national and international experts. I was happy to be able to spend time with my parents after a long time. In the hard times, I found people with an open hand welcoming for support. I could sense selfless love in people and animals. I was also able to help people and animals in need.
This year was also the year I had to say a lot of goodbyes. This year marked the end of my bachelor's degree. I had to bid farewell to some friends who departed abroad for further study and works. I had to bid permanent farewell to the very closed one too due to untimely demise. It was a heart wrenching moment. Every time something like this happens, it makes me realize that life is unpredictable and that we should not take this precious time for granted, but live it to the fullest and do our best. Acknowledging all these moments, I concluded every experiences that we learnt help us to pave a way. Every road we walk welcomes and says goodbye to people and time. Every time we farewell a moment, we prepare ourselves to welcome the new one. And the people we farewell, they always leave behind an inerasable impression.
After embracing all these lessons and experiences, I am beginning the next new year with new hopes. I vow to work hard and follow my passion to justify my precious time. While we work hard, we also have to take care of our health. So, stay fit, develop healthy habits, and do the best.
Happy new year, 2080!
